Lesson 4
The Shape of a Good Test
THE TESTING LOOP
Decide if it's worth testing (Chapter 1)
What will I do if it wins? If it loses?
Write the hypothesis (Chapter 2)
Specific enough that you could be wrong.
Choose the metrics (Chapter 3)
One primary. Two or three guardrails.
Work out how long it runs (Chapter 4)
Before you start. Written down.
Run it without touching it (Chapter 5)
Check setup on day two. Then leave it alone.
Read it honestly (Chapter 6)
Including the flat result and the one you didn't want.
Decide and write it up (Chapter 7)
The test informs the decision. It doesn't make it.
