Lesson 8
Reading It: Auditing for the Six Lies
Check this result for the common ways tests mislead. THE TEST: [what]. PLANNED vs ACTUAL
DURATION: [weeks]. WHEN I LOOKED AT RESULTS: [honestly, including informal glances]. THE
RESULT: [figures]. SEGMENTS I LOOKED AT: [all of them, including discarded]. DECLARED IN
ADVANCE: [which]. SPLIT ACHIEVED: [actual percentages]. OTHER TESTS RUNNING: [any]. WHERE
I MEASURED FROM: [funnel step]. Check for peeking, segment fishing, novelty/primacy,
contamination, sample mismatch, and survivorship. For each, say whether it's a concern
and what it means for my conclusion. Then tell me how much to trust this overall. Be
blunt.
