Claude for Product Managers
The Mistakes That Degrade Your Outputs Over Time
Mistake 1: Skipping the brief because you're in a hurry The brief isn't overhead it's the work. Skipping it costs more time than it saves.
Mistake 2: Accepting fluent-sounding output without reading it critically Claude writes well. Well-written doesn't mean correct, complete, or right for your situation. Read everything with your skeptic hat on.
Mistake 3: Using Claude to avoid making calls "What should I prioritize?" is a question only you can answer. "Help me structure the tradeoffs between these three options" is a question Claude can genuinely help with. Know the difference.
Mistake 4: Starting a new session every time Context accumulates in a session. Iterate within a conversation before starting over.
Mistake 5: Treating the output as final The last edits the ones that add your knowledge of the organization, the relationship context, the thing that happened in a meeting last Thursday can only be made by you. Don't skip them.
