Showing Product Sense Using AI

Product sense is not a statement.

It’s something the reader infers from how you frame problems and decisions.

This module focuses on making that thinking visible, without sounding forced or theoretical.

Strong PM portfolios show empathy in action.

That means:

1. understanding who the user is
2. knowing what they struggle with
3. explaining why it matters

Avoid abstract personas. Stay grounded in real signals.

Prioritisation shows judgment.

Instead of saying “this was high priority,” explain:

1. what you deprioritized
2. what trade-offs you accepted
3. what signals influenced the decision

Notion AI can help:

1. list competing priorities
2. surface implicit assumptions
3. clarify reasoning behind choices

Good prioritization is about what you didn’t do.

Few projects are perfect on the first try.

Use your case studies to show:

1. what you tested
2. what changed after feedback
3. how direction evolved

Notion AI helps:

1. compare early vs final approaches
2. summarize iteration cycles
3. highlight learning moments

Iteration signals maturity.

Ambiguity is normal in product work.

Strong PMs:

1. acknowledge uncertainty
2. make progress anyway
3. adjust based on learning

2. explain assumptions you made
3. clarify how ambiguity reduced over time

This builds credibility, not weakness.

After reviewing your case study, ask:

1. Can the reader infer how I think?
2. Is my judgment visible without me stating it?
3. Does this sound like real work?

If yes, you’re on the right track.

Re-read one case study and:

1. underline where user understanding shows up
2. mark where prioritization is explained
3. note where iteration is visible

If any area is missing, revise.

Add a section called:

“Key Decisions & Reasoning”

Keep it factual and grounded.
